The Primary Section at YCIS provides a high quality and global-minded education for students in Years 1 through 6.

The YCIS international curriculum has learning objectives from Key Stages 1 and 2 of the National Curriculum for England. The programme cultivates a positive learning attitude in every student and fosters enquiring, critical and creative thinking. Incorporating both Western and Eastern cultures through the Co-Teaching model, the school offers students a truly multicultural learning environment where linguistic skills in both English and Chinese are honed. Students also develop a deep understanding of and respect for diversity at YCIS.

The fully rounded education at YCIS ensures that every student has the chance to fully develop their individual potential. The programme puts strong emphasis on the performing arts and music and includes violin lessons for students from K4 to Year 3. Students are also encouraged to take part in sports and other pursuits. A wide range of after-school activities is provided to allow students to pursue their interests and to provide a well-rounded education.
