Students in Years 7-9 enter Key Stage 3 of the secondary curriculum taking English, History, Geography, Chinese Language, Mathematics and Science.
They also receive instruction in Design and Technology, Music, Art and Design, Information and Communication Technology, Physical Education, Drama, and Personal, Social and Health Education. There is a strong emphasis on developing the student’s language proficiency in both Chinese and English.
At Key Stage 3, YCIS encourages students to achieve their full physical and mental potential and pursue their interests, to lay a solid foundation for their futures. Along with academic progress, YCIS encourages students to enjoy their experience at school in order to establish a pattern of lifelong learning, by providing a strong community with an open attitude to learning environment. The discovery of what areas of life and learning the students enjoy is a vital step towards the senior years of Secondary education.
