The Big Draw

On October 14, YCIS Primary Section enjoyed a special event entitled “The Big Draw”. The Big Draw was started by the Campaign for Drawing, a UK arts foundation. Big Draws are held in 22 countries and we were excited to become the first Hong Kong primary school to hold such an event! As part of our commitment to align students with love and charity, culture and art, the children brought a donation towards Seeds of Hope and came dressed as artists and in creative creations of their own.

A range of drawing activities took place, linked to the curriculum as well as promoting enjoyment. Additional drawing activities took place out of the classrooms, with our Artists-in-Residence inspiring with charcoal drawings and local artist Annalisa Ryle showing how drawing helps her design bags. The children drew a portrait to add to a Hong Kong skyline to represent their place in the community. Many inspiring creations were produced during the day, as everyone working together to celebrate our love of drawing.
