University Guidance & Acceptance

YCIS Hong Kong employs University and Career Guidance Counsellors to help our Secondary students evaluate their educational and professional future, and to guide them towards their goals.

The School has three University Guidance Officers

One-to-One Support

The University Guidance Office (UGO) provides career planning guidance and assistance with our students’ IB or IGCSE course selection, so they are prepared to attend university in their chosen field and selected country. Our UGO also offers one-to-one college planning support, assists students in compiling the necessary materials required for university and college applications, and helps prepare transcripts and reference letters for students. Our Counsellors’ expertise helps keep students and parents informed about the requirements for tertiary studies, the courses and programmes offered in various countries, and application processes.

University Visits

YCIS hosts an abundance of visits from representatives from a vast range of universities and colleges annually, representing the US, the UK, Australia, Continental Europe, Canada, Hong Kong, South Korea, and Singapore, giving students and their parents an opportunity to meet and speak with overseas university representatives about their admission processes, as well as university life and their programmes.

Career Planning

Career workshops, courses, and information evenings are frequently organised on our Secondary campus to better prepare our students for the planning of their future. Students also enrol in guidance courses that help them determine and define their passion, goals, and direction for university studies and beyond.
