YCIS 88th Anniversary Celebration on Founder’s Day
Yew Chung International School celebrated its Founder’s Day and its 88th anniversary! Founded in 1932 by Madame Tsang Chor-hang, the school has grown and developed a quality and innovative global education environment based on love, compassion, global perspective and servant leadership.
For this remarkable occasion, Dr. Betty Chan, YCIS CEO & School Supervisor and daughter of the founder, was present at the campus of YCIS Hong Kong. She congratulated YCIS Beijing on their 25th anniversary, and encouraged the Yew Chung family to overcome the pandemic and hardship with love and charity. With orchestrated live-feed from all institutions across Hong Kong, China and Silicon Valley, the Yew Chung community shared the joy boundlessly.
Sports and artistic activities filled the day with laughter, vibrancy and fun. Our Secondary students participated eagerly at different quizzes, ping pong games and push-up challenges. Our Primary students engaged in cross-grade reading activities and dance workshops. Our youngest students in ECE explored mini sports games and magic balls.
This year, YCIS had presented three Hall of Fame Awards to its outstanding alumni members for the first time. Mr Aaron Shea from YCIS Hong Kong received the award for his contributions towards humanity and charity. Ms Chelsea Chen from YWIES Shanghai Gubei was accomplished for her achievements in the film industry. Ms Mika Ulmet from YCIS Shanghai was awarded for her efforts in sustainable community development. Let’s learn from these YCIS role models!
Despite being socially distanced, the YCIS community stays spiritually close. We are delighted to have our students, teachers, parents, friends and staff members from all campuses reunited physically or virtually to celebrate the Yew Chung heritage!
