Dr Troy Lui is a pivotal person for Yew Chung International School’s (YCIS) academic development; as Head of Chinese Curriculum and Research Division (CCRD), he leads a highly motivated team in pursuit of maximising students’ Chinese language acquisition and cultural understanding.
IB Art and Music Study Trip to London and Paris
We introduced an exciting new programme for all of our Secondary students in October called Experiential Learning Week (ELW). One of the main highlights of ELW, which allows students to participate in a wide array of excursions, camps and workshops, was the IB Diploma Programme Art and Music Study trip to London and Paris. Jacques Thomass, our Head of Creative Art for 10 years was responsible for supervising the students on this exciting journey. We talked to Jacques about the trip, the benefits our students gained as well as other inspiring initiatives that are taking place within our Creative Art Department.

Rebecca Maxwell, Senior Fellow at the Chor Hang Educational Research Institute (CHERI) works in partnership with the broad network of Yew Chung International Schools (YCIS). CHERI is established in honour of the founder of the systems, Madame Tsang Chor Hang, and is tasked with working with schools as they explore, implement and innovate current and emerging educational advances.

Alumni Relations Office Keeps School Spirit Alive
Herbert Cheng has held the position of Alumni Relations Officer for all the Yew Chung and Yew Wah schools in our network since April 2014. He is mainly responsible for putting together an exciting calendar of cool events and programmes, providing new ways for alumni members to connect with each other.
YCIS – Secondary Awarded Excellent Class at the Annual Indoor Air Quality Awards
Air quality is a huge concern for parents in Hong Kong. Tackling the issue requires a comprehensive response and a dedicated task force. We are therefore delighted to announce that our YCIS – Secondary campus located in To Fuk Road, Kowloon Tong was recently awarded ‘Excellent Class’ at the Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Certification Award Ceremony for the second consecutive year.

YCIS Students shine in 2016 IGCSE Exams
YCIS’s Secondary students have once again achieved excellent results in the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) examinations. In 2016, two YCIS students received straight As (A* and A) in ELEVEN subjects and three other students received TEN straight As (A* and A), while eight students earned NINE straight As (A* and A).
