The school admissions process is designed to help students who passed the entry requirements be placed in the appropriate grade level to meet their learning needs. This enables students to reach their full potential, preparing them to be responsible global citizens and leaders, as reflected in our mission statement.
All Yew Chung International Schools (YCIS) operate under the same educational philosophy, pedagogy and curriculum. Our internal transfer policy allows families who are in need to apply for a transfer to any school in our network in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Chongqing and Qingdao in China and Silicon Valley in the US. Internal transfer applicants need to meet the admissions requirements of the local government. Their cases will be processed on an individual basis and are given placement priority over the outside applicants.
Guardianship of Students
YCIS Hong Kong emphasises home-school co-operation. In accordance with our philosophy and requirements regarding to guardianship for students, applicants would firstly need to meet the legal requirements of allowing him/her to study in Hong Kong. The student may not enrol in Yew Chung unless at least one parent or an approved legal guardian is in full-time residence in Hong Kong. YCIS Hong Kong does not offer any boarding facilities for students.
