    • The Founder’s Day last Friday had a particular significance for Yew Chung International School as it celebrated its 85th Anniversary!

Created in 1932 by Madam Tsang Chor-hang, the school has grown and developed its learning and teaching environment through core values based on love, compassion and social responsibility.

For this special occasion, Dr Betty Chan, YCIS CEO & School Supervisor and daughter of the founder, was present at  the campus of YCIS Hong Kong. With orchestrated live-feed from all institutions affiliated to the Yew Chung Education Foundation (YCEF), Dr Chan highlighted the achievements that our community went through this year.

Students’ academic performance, along with the opening of the Ronghua Campus in January 2018, was the greatest news that we are particularly proud of.

The new YCIS uniforms, designed by talented alumna Christine Field-Hall, were then revealed with a musical fashion show. Comfortable and trendy are the key words of this new collection! Students from the three sections modelled the outfits that will be worn in the new school year.

Sport and artistic activities took place throughout the day: Secondary students were challenged with quizzes and scavenger hunts while Primary students engaged in dance and sport games. Our youngest students in ECE tried their hand at baking cupcakes and fruit desserts.

Dr Chan, a few alumni and the management board members enjoyed the day touring different campuses and interacting with our students in engaging activities and discussions.

It is always such a blessing to have all YCIS students, teachers, parents, friends and staff members reunited every year to celebrate Yew Chung heritage and philosophy!
