    • On Friday November 3, YCIS welcomed parents and friends to join our Primary students for the annual art event “the Big Draw”. As part of our continuing commitment to align the school with culture and art, YCIS participates every year since 2010 in the Campaign for Drawing, a non-profit UK based arts foundation that aims to promote drawing as a learning and brain developing activity.

Founded in 2000, the Big Draw is the foundation’s biggest event. It celebrates drawing as a tool for learning, expression and invention. Schools in more than 22 worldwide countries participate every year and YCIS was the first international school in Hong Kong to host this art event.

This year’s Big Draw theme was “Living Lines; An Animated Big Draw Festival”. Students dressed up in their creative clothing to match the theme and activities suggested by teachers and Artists in Residence engaged in interactive and fun drawing activities such as Spirograph, kinetic circles and action arts.
